Mikko Hyppönen from F-Secure will give the keynote presentation at the 2015 ISPA Awards, the leading Internet Industry event taking place at the Brewery on 2nd July. Mikko was named as one of the ‘fifty most important people on the web’ and has been pivotal in educating users about the importance of privacy and cyber-security. The ISPAs moved into a new phase with the launch of the Customer Choice award, the deadline for entrants and some new faces joining the judging panel. Halon are sponsoring the Best Business Customer Service Award, Magrathea Telecom are sponsoring Best VoIP and Tagadab are sponsoring the Best Use of Digital category. We will  publish the shortlists for the ISPAs in early May.

ISPA members are invited to a free drinks evening on the 23^rd April in the City of London. After a successful event in January, ISPA and INCA are once again laying on drinks for members. The Chancellor announced a new ‘ambition’ to support 100mbps broadband, an extension to the connection voucher scheme and revealed new support for technologies to bring broadband to the hardest to reach places. ISPA called the announcements ‘good news’ and called on Government to work with industry to maximise the chances of the ambition becoming a reality. Our press release is here.

Ofcom announced a major once-in-a-decade review of the communications industry, and ISPA will be working with members to respond and identify the key challenges and opportunities. In our response, we will be reminding Ofcom how ISPA members have transformed the way people communicate and we will work with members to set out our vision for what consumers will need from a healthy and competitive market in the next ten years.
