Guidance Notes for Users of CISAS
Introduction
Welcome to the Communications and Internet Services Adjudication Scheme (‘the scheme’). The scheme is an independent scheme run by CISAS, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, to settle disputes. When your dispute goes through the scheme, a person called an independent adjudicator makes a decision on it. That decision is binding on the company you are in dispute with, but you can reject it and take your dispute to court.
The following guide is written in plain English and has received a Crystal Mark from Plain English Campaign. It answers common questions about the scheme, explains the procedure and sets out exactly what you will have to do if you decide to have your dispute settled by the scheme. If you would like to have a copy of the formal rules, or if you have any questions once you have finished reading these notes, please contact us at:
