The threat posed by e-crime has been identified as one of the main concerns amongst internet users and receives considerable attention from parliamentarians and the media.  To help combat and reduce e-crime the Government recently announced the formation of the Police Central e-Crime Unit (PCeU) and the National Fraud Reporting Centre to act as a central reporting and investigation hub, as part of the National Fraud Strategic Authority.

Last January, Rt HonAlun Michael MP launched the UK Internet Governance Forum (UK IGF) which gives high priority to promoting best practice in online security, safety, awareness and education initiatives. One of the key work strands of the UK IGF is to develop an Internet Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership involving Government, Industry, Parliament, and Civil Society to tackle online crime.

The Police Central e-Crime Unit, the National Fraud Strategic Authority and the Partnership form the three major strands of action to combat crime and other activity that damages public confidence in the internet.

The ISPA Parliamentary Advisory Forum will bring together parliamentarians, government officials, key industry players and other relevant stakeholders to discuss this important and pertinent issue.

We would very much like you to join us for this debate in Portcullis House in Westminster .  The event will consist of a keynote speech from the Minister followed by a presentation from each speaker and a Q&A session with the audience from 2:00pm.  Then from 4:00pm ISPA invites you to informally continue discussions and meet parliamentarians and industry representatives over wine and canapés.
