ISPA, the voice of the UK Internet industry, is pleased that Ofcom’s latest research shows that investments made by ISPA members are continuing to deliver faster broadband at more affordable prices to consumers and businesses across the UK.

Ofcom’s Communications Market Report showed that broadband speeds have increased on average by 36% a year and that 30% of all connections are now superfast. With smartphones overtaking PCs and laptops as the most popular way to access the Internet plus a huge rise in people using online services, this research shows the continued strength and diversity of the UK Internet industry, with hundreds of providers using a range of technologies to get people online.

Responding to the Ofcom research, ISPA Secretary General Nicholas Lansman said “As speeds go up and prices come down, the Ofcom report highlights how ISPA members are delivering for the UK in a hugely competitive market. The communications landscape is ever changing and industry will keep innovating and developing new services.”
