Due to the fast changing nature of industry, the Government is seeking to update its communications data capabilities. A controversial issue with important implications for service providers, communications data receives a great deal of attention from press and parliamentarians. Following previous legislation in the area, the Home Office recently launched a public consultation, “Protecting the public in a changing communications environment, which talks of providthird party data. This session will explore the legal and regulatory challenges for providers posed by the consultation.
