Briefing session for The 2007 ISPAs

ISPA, in association with Epitiro Technologies, will hold a pre-awards briefing session on 11th May 2006 at Internet World 2006 in London for prospective entrants to The 2007 ISPAs - The 9th Annual UK Internet Industry Awards.

All prospective entrants are encouraged to attend the session as it will provide information regarding categories, entry procedures, assessment processes, as well as specific responsibilities and requirements. Entrants will also have the opportunity to ask any questions about the process.

It is recommended that prospective entrants bring a PR and a technical representative so that all parties are fully prepared for The 2007 ISPAs.

The session will be held on Thursday 11th May, 8.45 to 10am at Internet World 2006, Earls Court 2, London. All those wishing to attend must register with Internet World 2006.

Upcoming ISPA Conference
Consumer issues affecting the ISP industry

On 26th May ISPA will hold a one-day conference addressing consumer issues affecting the ISP industry. With Home Office Minister Paul Goggins as key note speaker, the ISPA Conference will provide necessary information and guidance regarding pertinent consumer issues affecting the industry. Sponsored by Eversheds, CSIA and BT Wholesale, the conference will be held at Eversheds House in Manchester.

Aimed at managing directors, senior management and regulatory and technical specialists the conference will tackle key topics such as ISP’s role in assisting businesses with security issues and demonstrating ways of protecting your business. It will also examine the impact of Data Retention and E-Commerce regulations, as well as addressing the ways in which the Government is co-operating with the Industry to help tackle the problem of child abuse on the Internet.

ISPA Members can attend the conference at a discounted rate of £175 for the first delegate and £125 for additional delegates. The cost for non-members is £275 for the first delegate and £225 for subsequent delegates.

Upcoming issue of Hardcopy

The latest edition of Hardcopy - ISPAs printed newsletter is set to be released in May.  In this sixth edition of Hardcopy, ISPA will tackle a topic our Members know well - consumer issues affecting ISPs.

Always insightful, this edition of Hardcopy will discuss how ISPs can help consumers choose the right service package, the issue of media literacy and the importance of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) schemes.

At ISPA’s next Legal Forum

ISPA’s next legal forum will take place on Wednesday, 7th June 2006 in London and will examine the effects of The Electronic Commerce Regulations 2002, introduced on 21st August 2002.

Graham Smith, partner at Bird & Bird will be speaking at the forum, Chaired by Clive Gringas, partner at Olswang.

Come along to find out more, gain some new insight and share your experience about the E-Commerce Regulations.

The presentations and Q&A session will be followed by the opportunity to network and meet fellow members of ISPA over a drink.
