Knock AOL Off Top Spot In The Beautiful Game
ISPA's second annual charity football tournament

The Internet industry’s footie teams are gearing up to snatch the ISPA charity cup title from previous victors AOL at this year’s tournament. ISPA has teamed up with Rconnection, a division of Register.com, to hold the second annual ISPA Charity Cup – a five-a-side football tournament organised exclusively for ISPA members.

2005 champions AOL - who won the final 1 v 0 against One.Tel - are eager to defend their title against all comers on the 26th October, on the hallowed turf at Wembley. Heralded as a fun tournament with aspects of tough competition and friendly rivalry, AOL’s captain said “To win the [2005] tournament was a real honour”.

To enter just put together your latest signings of eight colleagues to make up a basic five-a-side team, plus three subs. We're encouraging women to take part so try to mix it up as all male teams will be frowned upon. Teams will then battle it out through a mini league format, to knockout stages and the eventual final.

After proving yourselves on the pitch you'll be rewarded with a drinks reception and prize-giving ceremony, plus you’ll know that it’s all for a good cause. We raised £5,000 for Child Net International, Computer Aid International and the British Liver Trust last year. ISPA is looking to do better this time with the proceeds being split between British Liver Trust and Oasis net2work.

Kick off is at 3pm with prize-giving at 9pm, on Thursday 26th October 2006 at Goalsturf, Wembley. Sadly the new stadium still isn’t ready.

Directions

The fee is just £350 per team, and as all the money goes to charity there’s no need to add VAT.

More information is available online. Register your team by emailing the ISPA Secretariat.
