Parliamentary Annual Forum addresses harmful content on the ‘net

The joint Chair of the All Party Communications group, Derek Wyatt MP will be hosting ISPA’s Parliamentary Annual Forum (PAF) on 4th February 2008.


The forum is free to attend and will bring together key industry players, government officials, parliamentarians and lawyers to address harmful content on the Internet.


ISPA has recently responded to Dr Tanya Byron’s review into children’s access to harmful content on the Internet and video games.  Dr Byron is just one of the speakers alongside John Whittingdale MP, Chair of the Commons Select Committee on Culture, Media and Sport,  Camille de Stempel, AOL UK and Chair of the ISPA Internet-Safety Subgroup, and Peter Hodgson founder and CEO of the PAF’s sponsor Brightfilter.

The seminar and Q&A session will be held at 5:30pm in the Macmillan Room of Portcullis House, Westminster.

Turn On And Tune In To The 2008 IPTV World Forum

File sharing and broadband growth

 

This month the government put pressure on ISPs warning that laws to force the disconnection of illegal filesharers are already being drafted for a parliamentary debut in November.

ISPA responded by highlighting that it had "had "good meetings" with film rights owners and remains committed to working with "responsible rights holders" on copyright infringement.
