ISPA News 31/03/09
Record number of entries for the ISPA Awards ISPA has received a record number of entrants for this year’s categories, making the 2009 ISPA Awards the most hotly contested yet. Technical testing has now been under way for some time and entrants are in the process of submitting their value-added entry forms (deadline today), which could well make all the difference. The winners will be selected based on a combination of the results of the technical testing and the marks from the panel of independent judges. Finalists will be announced in mid-May with the winners crowned at the black tie gala dinner and awards ceremony at the Grosvenor Marriott Hotel in London on the 9th July. Tickets for this event will go on sale shortly from the ISPA Awards website. With a record number of entrants, sponsorship of the Awards is likely to lead to more great exposure to the people that matter. If you have any questions or would like to enquire about sponsorship please contact awards@ispa.org.uk or 020 7340 8741.

They are an associate member of the IWF (Internet Watch Foundation) and its funding council, and inherit the IWF CAIC list into their database of blocked sites. They are also a member of the UKCCIS (UK Council for Child Internet Safety).
A number of ISPs in the UK block web sites containing child sexual abuse images (CSAI) using a list provided by the Internet Watch Foundation. However, doing this has often required complex and expensive technology to be installed within the ISP network.
The NetClean WhiteBox is a CSAI blocking and filtering system. It combines Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), IP tunnels, deep packet inspection (DPI), a list of live dynamic URLs supplied by the UK's IWF and a redirection mechanism to direct users away from servers containing CSAI.
