ISPA INTERNET INDUSTRY AWARDS

ISPA INTERNET INDUSTRY AWARDS

7 February 2001

The Internet Services Providers Association today held its third successive Internet Industry Awards at the London Hilton on Park Lane. The event brought together key players within the industry, and acknowledged the developments and progress made during this last year. The new government E-Envoy, Andrew Pinder, gave the welcome address, stating that "these awards represent the growth and consolidation of the UK Internet industry as a whole while also celebrating individual achievements."   The event was also filmed by Silicon.com.

The Awards have been designed to recognise the growing importance of the industry, and in particular its increasingly broad nature. The growth of areas such as m-commerce and ASP services have been acknowledged by new awards categories, reflecting the convergence of many traditional services with new technologies.

Clare Gilbert, Chairman of ISPA said "every year the event becomes more popular as Industry takes advantage of the opportunity to come together to recognise the great achievements during the previous year."
