ISPA ANNOUNCES INTERNET INDUSTRY AWARDS 2000

12 January 2000

The achievements of the UK Internet Industry will be celebrated at the ISPA Internet Industry Awards Ceremony on 15 February 2000 at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Hailed last year as the "Internet Oscars", the ISPA Internet Industry Awards 2000 looks set to be an even more prestigious event. ISPA is proud to announce that the E-Commerce Minister, Patricia Hewitt MP, will show her support for the Industry by making a welcome address to guests at the London Hilton.

"The Awards are an opportunity for the sector to stand back and recognise the tremendous strides made by this fledging industry," said Tim Pearson, ISPA Chairman.
The Awards will bring together key figures who have contributed to the dynamic success of the fastest growing industry in the UK. The award categories seek to reflect the broad nature of the industry from Internet Service Providers and website designers to industry suppliers, "techies" and entrepreneurs, who have sought to turn great ideas into reality.

This year the Awards are divided into three sections which reflect the voting audience of each: business, industry or consumers. The panel of Judges for the business awards includes Derek Wyatt MP, founder of the World Internet Forum, as well as top Internet Analysts, Editors and Consultants.

More information, as well as online ticket sales and voting, can be found at the Awards website. Alternatively, please contact Michelle Dow on 0171 976 0679.

Ends.
