Matthew Hare, Chief Executive, Community Internet Group
Matthew has a wide experience of communications networks and services including cellular, fixed wireless and the Internet. In February 1996, Matthew founded the Community Internet Group, which offers Business-to-Business internet services and managed wide area networks through CI-Net limited and Interdart limited. From foundation until its sale to IRIS in November 2008, the group provided ticketing solutions for live events through ts.com limited. In January 2005, CI-Net launched RedKite, a broadband wireless Internet access service using fixed wireless technology. In April 2009, the company acquired Interdart, a business ISP with particular expertise in the healthcare sector.
Matthew was from 1997 to 2000 and from 2002 until December 2005 a member of the Internet Services Providers Association council and chair of the ISPA Broadband Group.
Between 1987 and 1995, Matthew ran and worked in a number of subsidiaries of the Kinnevik Group
1994-96: NetCom Consultants (UK) Ltd., a specialist telecommunications consultancy.
1990-94: Liberty Communications, a pioneering wireless local loop PTO
1989-90: Orange, the first UK GSM mobile operator at 1.8GHz
1987-89: Millicom Cellular, a cellular service provider
Prior to this, Matthew worked for Adserve, First Circle and Vodafone.
Matthew was born in 1962 and has a degree in Economics from Bristol University.
