ISPA launches report ‘Digital Connectivity: What Matters Most to the UK’

ISPA UK is pleased to publish Digital Connectivity: What Matters Most to the UK, a new report released to mark our 30th anniversary. Drawing on fresh polling of 2,000 UK adults, the report highlights how central broadband has become to our daily lives—and where the public believes more must be done.
Key insights from the research include:

Digital necessity: 78% of people see fast, reliable broadband as vital, with many prioritising it over other daily essentials like the gym or even their morning coffee.

Support for rollout: Despite localised concerns, 62% of the public are happy to accept short-term disruption if it means better broadband in the long term.

Shared responsibility: With 55% saying tech platforms aren’t doing enough to tackle online fraud, the public wants to see more action across the ecosystem – from regulators to ISPs and social media companies.

Closing the gap: As the government’s Digital Inclusion Action Plan progresses, our findings point to the need for stronger national leadership and localised delivery to ensure no community is left behind.
The report calls for continued government support through Project Gigabit, stronger public-private partnerships, and a renewed focus on closing regional gaps in awareness, access, and digital confidence.
