The Internet Services Providers’ Association (ISPA UK) is excited to announce the finalists for the 2019 ISPA Awards!
This is the 21st year of the awards - the longest running and most prestigious awards for the UK’s internet industry.
In one of the most competitive years yet, judges have considered hundreds of entries to shortlist 66 nominees for the twelve different categories. The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on the 11th July at the InterContinental Park Lane Hotel in London.
ISPs continue to provide vital services and technological advances to keep the UK’s digital economy pumping, driving innovation and the rollout and delivery of key infrastructure and services. The ISPA Awards are proud to recognise their contribution, whatever their size, as shown by the breadth and variety of those shortlisted for an award.
This year we have introduced a new category, The Best Customer Solution, which proved to be one of the most popular for entries. We also updated our broadband categories to ISP status and changed the name for the Best Superfast Broadband to Best Consumer ISP to stay relevant to the changes in the industry.
It is great to see four women competing in the Executive of the Year category, whilst Hyperoptic once again leads the board with four nominations, followed by KCOM, Glide, RM Education and Storm Internet with three nominations each.
The Customer Service Award and Cyber Security Award have also attracted a growing number of entries, with ISPs seeking to provide ever better services and protections for consumers.
We are also excited to announce that Internet Villain will be back this year by popular demand! The public will be asked to nominate their Internet Hero and Villain for 2019, recognising the transformative way in which they have shaped the internet for the benefit or detriment of all.
ISPA’s Secretary General, Nick Lansman, commented: “This year’s shortlisted ISPA Awards finalists demonstrate the high calibre and diversity of ISPs across the UK, who continue to drive growth and innovation across the internet industry. We are all looking forward towards an exciting evening which celebrates the best that the UK industry has to offer.”
