1st August 2023 - The Internet Services Provider’s Association (ISPA UK) is delighted to  unveil the finalists for its special 25th anniversary of the ISPA Awards. A fantastic 40 organisations have been nominated across thirteen industry categories, with a further 3 category shortlists to be announced later in the year.

Reflecting the diversity and innovation in the sector, several ISPA members have been shortlisted in multiple categories. Leading the pack is Giganet  with nominations  in 5 categories. Hot on their heels, Community Fibre, Lit Fibre and BeFibre also received nominations across several categories. The Best ISP (250,000+ customers) sees an altnet competing against the long established household name providers for the first time.

2023 has seen a major transition in focus for our sector, build has moved beyond 50% FTTP deployment and 75% gigabit capable, market consolidation is ramping up and greater emphasis is now being placed on take-up and delivery of gigabit services. In reflection of this, the 25th ISPAs has introduced several new categories that highlights the priorities of the market and are designed to showcase the great work of industry - there are three separate consumer categories to highlight excellence  at varying levels in the market. In addition, three new awards (Best Customer Protection, Best Customer Experience, Best Integrated Communications Campaign) were introduced - each  recognising key sector priorities

The winners will be announced on the 9th of November at the historic Old War Offices on Whitehall - now the OWO raffles hotel. With the Awards celebrating its 25th anniversary, ISPA is delighted to be hosting colleagues from across industry to celebrate the fantastic work of the sector in 2023 at our most prestigious venue yet.

Still to come - we are set to launch our ever-present Internet Hero award and have nominations open for our Digital Inclusion Award (in partnership with Good Things Foundation) and our special 25th Anniversary Award. Our 25th anniversary special contribution award launched last month, and is open to nominations for an individual or organisation that could be classed as an industry titan, dedicating themselves/ itself to propelling the sector forward through an exceptional contribution to the development of connectivity and internet services over the past 25 years.

Shortlists for all three additional awards will be revealed closer to the gala ceremony.

Commenting on the announcement, ISPA Chair, Steve Leighton, said:

“This year’s landmark anniversary of the iconic ISPA awards presents the ideal opportunity to celebrate and showcase the significant endeavour we have seen from organisations across the length and breadth of the sector in 2023. In an economic climate that has seen increased pressure placed on financial investments and consumers, industry has worked tirelessly to get us beyond 50% nationwide FTTP coverage, delivering increased speeds and better services to citizens and businesses across the UK - while also alleviating some of the strains imposed by the cost of living crisis on consumers. I am excited to see who the deserving winners will be on the 9th of November with 450 peers from industry”
