Commenting on the plans, ISPA Chair, Steve Leighton, said:
"We welcome the announcements in today’s Plan for Growth to accelerate broadband rollout. Committing to amend the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Bill to provide our members with easier access to telegraph poles on private land, as well as the strong suggestions that the Government will look again at how we can reduce barriers to broadband rollout through its plans to further support digital growth, will help our members to continue deploying gigabit broadband at pace. We urge Government to put these strong words into decisive action to significantly move the dial on broadband rollout by fixing permitting for road works and delivering a fair and competitive wayleave regime."
