The 2016 ISPA Awards, the 18th Annual UK Internet Industry awards, launched today with new and revamped categories to reward the best performing providers in the sector.

To reflect some of the changes and continued diversity in the sector there are three new categories for 2016: Best Cloud Product, Best Marketing Campaign and Best CPE Hardware. Cloud is becoming ever more essential and CPE Hardware has been set up to recognise the innovation of vendors whose hardware brings the Internet to customers and enables ISPs to deliver services.

ISPA members have invested heavily to bring superfast broadband to over 80% of the population and driving forward the UK economy utilising a variety of technologies and services. Results have been impressive with average broadband speeds increasing significantly, costs for consumers reducing and these awards are aimed at recognising the providers who help the UK thrive.

Entry is free for ISPA members and non-members alike and entrants can enter as many categories as they wish.  The deadline to register is 29th January 2016 and the written entry forms need to be complete by 25th March 2016. To access the forms, please go to each individual category here.

The ISPA Awards are one of the few industry awards that require rigorous technical testing for broadband, hosts and VoIP providers, carried out by our technical partners thinkbroadband and Malden Electronics who carry out millions of tests every year. A panel of industry experts will determine the shortlists for other categories and all the eventual winners.

Nicholas Lansman, ISPA Secretary General, said: “The ISPA Awards are a great way to celebrate the true breadth and diversity of the UK Internet industry which plays a vital role for the UK economy. With the Internet now essential for consumers and businesses, I look forward to the tough testing and judging that will uncover the best providers in 2016.”

Thinkbroadband editor Andrew Ferguson added “thinkbroadband is pleased to be able to play its part in the ISPA Awards with the technical testing of a number of categories and we look forward to a keenly contested set of awards. The dedication of the judges in sifting through the vast amount of information helps to ensure that those winning an ISPA Award can be rightly proud when their name is announced on the night.”

Linus Surguy, Technical Director of Magrathea, sponsor of the Best VoIP Award said “Magrathea is proud to continue its support of this prestigious industry event and we look forward to the ceremony in July.”
