The 2014 ISPA Awards, the premier UK internet industry awards, launched today with two new categories reflecting industry trends.

The Best Business Use of Cloud is open to providers of cloud technology that allow businesses to use cloud technology to become more efficient, drive business and improve their company. This will be judged by a case study.

The Best Use of Digital is aimed at the ISP or technology provider that ran the best digital media campaign and will be judged by a case study.

Six categories will undergo two months of testing by ISPA Awards technical partner thinkbroadband, while Malden Electronics tests the Best VoIP category sponsored by Magrathea. For the first time, the broadband entrants will also have access to a browser-based technical tester, making it easier than ever to assess the best broadband providers. For entrants, this means less reliance getting customers to install testing agents and opens up the testing to any platform, making the process easier and giving even more robust data for the shortlisting.

The ISPAs are a recognised kite mark in the industry, and considered a badge of quality to customers. Entrants can register here and also must submit a written entry form for each category which will be scrutinised alongside the results of the testing by the ISPA Awards judges, an independent panel of industry experts.

Entries can be submitted online, at www.ispaawards.org.uk from today until 24th January 2014 across the 16 categories, listed below.  Entering the awards is free and open to both ISPA members and non-members.

Nicholas Lansman, ISPA Secretary General, said: “As ISPA approaches its twentieth year, 2014 will see the 16th annual ISPA awards and the new categories reflect the diversity of ISPA members and the strength of the UK industry. ISPA has been the voice of the internet industry since 1995 and we look forward to another competitive awards”.

Thinkbroadband editor Andrew Ferguson added “thinkbroadband is pleased to be running the technical testing for the broadband categories once more in 2014, and we particularly pleased to be broadening our testing methodology to encompass many more platforms, reflecting the fact that tablet and mobile based computing is now a big user of broadband and wireless services.“

NetLynk Direct sponsor the Internet Hero and Internet Villain Awards plus drinks reception and Magrathea sponsors the Best VoIP Award. Linus Surguy, Technical Director of Magrathea said “Magrathea is proud to continue its support of this prestigious industry event and we look forward to the ceremony.  We wish all entrants the best of luck”.
