At this INCA-supported event John Souter, CEO of the London Internet Exchange and Mike Kelly, CEO of Datacentred and founder of Telecity will give a unique industry perspective on the role the new Digital Exchange concept could play in developing the UK’s digital infrastructure.
They will be joined by other experts to explain the how the concept - now made real in the Brighton Digital Exchange - combines the notion of a neutral PoP and hosting hub with a unique co-ownership model to promote engagement and growth in local digital and tech sectors. The afternoon event will be followed by drinks and networking supported by Sudlows.
A Digital Exchange is a local Internet infrastructure hub designed to support innovation and collaboration. The concept plugs an important gap creating a shared, neutral facility where ISPs and digital businesses can develop products and services for the 21st century Internet. The Brighton Digital Exchange was launched in July 2015. Today 90 business units are connected to dark fibre at the exchange which offers a landing place for new fibre and wireless connections.
