ISPA, alongside charity partner Good Things Foundation, is continuing to celebrate the fantastic efforts made to enhance digital inclusion at the 27th ISPA Awards, hosted at City Central at the HAC on Thursday 13th November.
A lack of digital skills and access can have a huge negative impact on a person’s life, leading to poorer health outcomes and a lower life expectancy, increased loneliness and social isolation, less access to jobs and education. It can mean paying more for essentials, financial exclusion, an increased risk of experiencing poverty. People who are digitally excluded also lack a voice and visibility in the modern world, as government services and democracy increasingly move online.
We want to highlight the good work being done by communities & charities to fix the digital divide and help those in need stay or become connected. Whether you’re an individual, organisation, charity or community group, we want to hear about the impact and change you have made. It could be improving digital literacy, helping people get connected or using digital to change lives for the better.
Alongside the Digital Inclusion Champion for Charities and Communities sits a category for Digital Inclusion Champion for Industry which was already launched earlier this year in addition to other categories for ISPs.
Helen Milner OBE, CEO of Good Things Foundation, said: "We are delighted to be repeating our partnership with the ISPA Awards for the third year to recognise and celebrate those making strides to fix the digital divide. It’s fantastic to see the awards acknowledge both industry and communities, understanding that vital work is being done across all sectors to ensure everyone can benefit from the digital world."
