Internet policy hots up over the summer
The busy summer period has seen ISPA working with members, Government and Parliament on live policy issues.
ISPA responded to the Consumer Green Paper and whilst supportive of appropriate, targeted measures we called for the unique characteristics of the telecoms sector – including infrastructure and service competition, ongoing infrastructure build and recent changes to consumer protection - to be recognised by policymakers. You can see our response here. Attention now turns to the forthcoming publication of the DCMS Future Telecoms Infrastructure Review (FTIR) and next steps on implementation of the broadband USO from Ofcom. We’ll be keep an eye on what the FTIR has to say on tackling broadband barriers and regulatory incentives. Given past form, we wouldn’t be surprised to see updates published just before the summer break.
Our response to the House of Lords Inquiry into regulation of the internet was published by the committee this week as oral evidence sessions continue.

ISPA Cyber Security Survey
ISPA is running a survey for members on cyber security and we would be grateful if you could take 10 minutes or so to fill out the survey.
The aim of the survey is to get an industry wide perspective on cyber security to demonstrate the role ISPs play in ensuring cyber security, the nature of threats and how Government and law enforcement can help industry.
