Last week to Register for the 2011 ISPA Awards -

The 'ISPAs' is now in its 13th year and has consistently delivered an excellent platform to showcase the best business and consumer internet services in the industry. This year there is a new OTTV Award for all those providers offering streaming and IPTV as well as a new Managed Service Award.

Entering the ISPA Awards is a great way to promote your company and the services you provide and it is free to enter. Whether your work is in internet safety or internet access, encouraging people to get online or hosting content, there are plenty of categories to ensure that you can get involved.

Register by Friday by letting us know the categories you want to enter on the ISPA Awards website. Thinkbroadband or Malden Electronics will contact you, if you have entered a tested category, in February and the written entry forms are due on April 1st.

UK Internet Governance Forum event
Spring messaging session and launch of Nominet Internet Awards 2011

Registration for the UK Internet Governance Forum event on the 8th February is now open. Delegates can register to attend on the Nominet website: http://www.nominet.org.uk/about/events/UKIGF/?contentId=4746.

The UK IGF provides a forum in the UK where industry, government, parliament, academia and civil society can discuss key issues associated with the Internet.

The next UK IGF event will be held on Tuesday 8 February at Central Hall, Westminster. The event will start at 2pm with the launch of the Nominet Internet Awards 2011.

Hon Ed Vaizey, Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries and Martha Lane Fox, the UK’s Digital Champion will be giving keynote speeches and we will be running three parallel workshops:

Cloud computing
Access issues
The Future of internet content

The event will draw to a close at 5.45pm and will be followed by a drinks reception. Numbers are limited so book your place now!
