ISP industry response to Covid-19
Following the unprecedented national response to Covid-19, ISPA members have been working flat out connecting customers, fixing faults and managing networks as the country relies even more on being connected.
As part of our response to help support members, ISPA has:
- Helped coordinate regular and active engagement with Government and regulators so that telecoms engineers can carry out their critical work
- Established hub on the ISPA website with guidance for members
- Led weekly member calls to share findings, answer questions and take forward actions
- Briefed journalists on key industry issues such as network performance
- Dealt with queries from members
We remain in close contact with members and Government. Do get in contact with the team if you have any questions.
ISPA work during the current situation
Despite a great deal of focus naturally shifted to COVID-19, there has still been time this month to hold our regular, though now remote, subgroup meetings. The broadband subgroup’s work has focused on the ongoing DCMS Committee Inquiry into the Government’s nationwide gigabit capable target, to which ISPA will be submitting written evidence. Further to this, a webinar session was held for the subgroup with presentations from both Phil Laws at Openreach discussing their approach to copper switch off, and Tom Raynsford from DCMS updating the group on the work of the Barrier Busting team.
ISPA Awards update
We received a great number of entries for this year's ISPA Awards. We understand that some companies are experiencing difficulties due to the present situation and weren't able to submit their entries on time but if you still want to participate in the awards please contact email@example.com and we can work out an individual plan for you. The awards ceremony has been moved to 18th November so please add this date to your diaries and we hope that we will see most of our members there.

ISPA Partners for 2020Salumanus offer of network components
Good cooperation is vital more than ever
In this unprecedented moment caused by the coronavirus COVID-19 crisis, we need to collaborate and work together even closer.
At Salumanus, in the last few weeks, we have implemented video meetings which are helping us now to be in regular contact with our clients in Europe and support them in their business activities in the real time.
We have managed to keep our supply chain at a good level, and even today we are able to help our partners in their needs and provide them with major network components.
Within our cooperation with ISPA UK, we would be more than happy to speak to ISPA members by arranging video calls, should they wish to do so. We are willing to help, share our knowledge and experience. Now, when the speed of network plays a major role due to a rapidly growing demand from clients working from home, Salumanus can offer you high-quality data transmission devices e.g. optical transceivers or network switches and other valuable solutions.
With our new office launched in February 2020 in Manchester, we are here in the local market, facing the same challenges. We wish to partner with your company and support you as much as we can to keep your business running.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you and cooperating together!

ITS Technology joins ISPA
ITS designs, builds and operates full fibre and hybrid wireless networks where they are needed most so that business and residential communities can access gigabit capable connectivity services. Having pioneered a ‘dig once’ model that reuses existing infrastructure where we can, our connections are:
• Fast to install, often in days of customer orders being placed
• Gigabit capable, offering the flexibility to scale to fulfil connectivity requirements and demand
• Kinder to the environment as we don't need to dig up the roads if we can use existing ducts and other infrastructure.
