Internet industry finalists revealed for the landmark 25th anniversary ISPA Awards
The Internet Services Provider’s Association (ISPA UK) is delighted to unveil the finalists for its special 25th anniversary of the ISPA Awards. A fantastic 40 organisations have been nominated across thirteen industry categories, with a further 3 category shortlists to be announced later in the year.
Reflecting the diversity and innovation in the sector, several ISPA members have been shortlisted in multiple categories. Leading the pack is Giganet with nominations in 5 categories. Hot on their heels, Community Fibre, Lit Fibre and BeFibre also received nominations across several categories. The Best ISP (250,000+ customers) sees an altnet competing against the long established household name providers for the first time.
The winners will be announced on the 9th of November at the historic Old War Offices on Whitehall - now the Raffles London at The OWO hotel. With the Awards celebrating its 25th anniversary, ISPA is delighted to be hosting colleagues from across industry to celebrate the fantastic work of the sector in 2023 at our most prestigious venue yet.
Still to come - we are set to launch our ever-present Internet Hero award and have nominations open for our Digital Inclusion Award (in partnership with Good Things Foundation) and our special 25th Anniversary Award. Our 25th anniversary special contribution award launched last month, and is open to nominations for an individual or organisation that could be classed as an industry titan, dedicating themselves/ itself to propelling the sector forward through an exceptional contribution to the development of connectivity and internet services over the past 25 years. Shortlists for all three additional awards will be revealed closer to the gala ceremony.

ISPA is working hard on submitting various consultations
- Private telecoms networks - DSIT published a call for information on the use and security of private telecoms networks, intended to help the Government obtain information and views on the use, security and resilience of private telecoms networks. The responses will be used to help determine whether specific Governmental intervention is needed to promote the security and resilience of private telecoms networks.
- PSTI Act Consultation - measures on how to implement the Unresponsive Occupier / Third Party Land Consultation
- One Touch Switch - as the One Touch Switch gets closer, TOTSCo is consulting on the proposed pricing regime
- Investigatory Powers Act - a Home Office consultation that recently closed on proposed changes to the IPA notice regime. ISPA's response can be found here
- Domain misuse consultation - DSIT is looking at proposals for a list of misuses and unfair uses of domain names that registries in scope must take action to mitigate and deal with

broadband services
We are committed to making a positive impact on communities and our recent partnership with Hartlepower shows our dedication. Working with these organisations, we aim to bring the internet to digitally excluded groups to foster growth and opportunities across the UK.
One in five people struggles to access basic services, education and communication due to the digital gap, which markedly widened during COVID-19. We understand the responsibility that comes with us being the number one networking manufacturer in the world and the technology of choice for the public. Not only is it required, but closing the digital divide is also how we fulfil our social responsibility pledge.
By working with communities in a resolute manner, we hope to close the gap and give people the resources they need to prosper. We can create a better future for everyone by working together in this digital age, leaving no one behind.
