Steven has a network engineering background and has enjoyed 14 years in Telecoms. A founding Director of Metronet (UK), Steven has been at the heart of taking the business from a startup to a £60m organisation, including successful negotiation of two management buy outs and is one of the team that led to the acquisition of two companies in the last 2 years (M247 and Venus Internet). He has held various roles including responsibility for network and customers support and is now taking a more commercial role in the delivery, planning and investment of network rollout. Steven also sits on the IXManchester Steering Committee and has been a respected industry figure in technical circles for many years. Steven would bring a wealth of commercial and technical expertise to support the policy work of the Council, in particular, focussing on the practical and customer impact of industry and policy changes to day to day ISP Operations.
