CityFibre: Building a better network for Britain
Since 2011, CityFibre has argued that Full Fibre should be the standard for everyone in the UK. Deploying this at scale and pace just to deliver faster broadband speeds is not what the company is about though. That’s why CityFibre is building a world-class digital infrastructure platform, led by a team that’s always pushing boundaries and setting new standards for the industry and new levels of expectation for partners and their customers, ensuring that everything, from how the network is built to how the team innovates for the future, is Better By Design.
DDoS Protection Partner
Automated protection from Carpet Bomb DDoS Attacks
"Spread-spectrum”, “Carpet-bomb”, “Sprayed” attacks are growing in popularity. Should you be concerned?
These are all terms for an attack vector which targets hundreds or even thousands of victim IP addresses simultaneously (most traditional attacks only target a single victim IP address) making them more difficult to detect and mitigate.
At Corero, we continuously monitor the cyber security landscape to ensure that we offer a real-time automatic solution against DDoS attacks including carpet bomb.
Open Disaggregated Solutions Partner
Learn how EPS Global created an innovative, cost-effective solution to extend network capacity in Burkina Faso, connecting cities over 100s of kilometres.
By bringing together a disaggregated solution including open software, open optical packet transponders, bare metal switches, routers, optics and cables, EPS Global helped Virtual Technologies & Services provide 200Gb/s bandwidth and reach out to remote areas of the country.
As a result, this ISP was able to deliver new services to subscribers, providing new revenue streams, and all while lowering their total cost of ownership.
Damage Prevention Partner
LSBUD Safe Digging Poem
Safe Digging is at the top of our agenda – it’s what LSBUD is all about. Helping our Members to protect their assets from accidental damage and keeping those people who work near them safe from harm. To help spread the message we recently released a new video. It’s a light hearted take on a serious subject. Please take a look and share with your networks to help spread the importance of 'searching before you dig’.

It’s time to deploy Wi-Fi 6 and 6E Routers & Mesh
As we emerge out of the pandemic and the massive changes brought about in terms of peoples’ work and leisure habits, there is a greater focus on the speed & stability of broadband access for consumers. Previously, an older router would have been fine, but today, as homes are using more networked devices, consumers are demanding more from their basic gateway and home mesh networks. This is where TP-Link can help
ISPs are now working on their router upgrades & mesh strategy to manage the demand and increased customer expectations’. The ISP-dedicated TP-Link Service Provider Business Unit can help identify the most optimal commercial & technical gateway & mesh solutions that will work for you –get in touch with Kalam and the team

Charting the rapid evolution of smart homes
We dipped into the Plume data archives to understand just how quickly smart homes are evolving:
- We are more reliant on smart devices than ever—globally, the average number of devices connected to Plume-powered networks has more than doubled (8 to 19) since December 2015, with the average number of IoT gadgets and gizmos almost tripling (4.2 to 12.5) over the same time frame.
- Consumers are enjoying faster WiFi services—the global average download speed for Plume-powered networks was 317 Mbps in December 2021, more than double that of December 2018.
- Smartphones consume the most data—from video streaming to online banking, smartphones are arguably the most versatile device connected to our networks. They topped the data consumption chart with a global average of 96.3 GB downloaded per home during December 2021.
Test & Measurement Partner
When deploying fibre, you want to ensure the quality is there from the start. To minimize the impact of errors and uncertainty that can accompany conventional unidirectional testing, bidirectional OTDR testing methods have been developed to enhance the accuracy and precision of this important test methodology. VIAVI believes in smarter testing, and that field technicians should be able to rapidly, reliably and cost effectively certify and troubleshoot any fibre link.
VIAVI would like to invite ISPA members to join us on our next LinkedIn Live event where we will discuss what bidirectional testing is, why you would use it, and how to make it as simple and easy as possible. Add the event to your calendar – taking place at 5pm on Thursday 10 March here.
ISPA welcomes BroadbandHub and Runfibre as new members
With over 10 years experience in wholesale aggregation, the BroadbandHUB brings tried and tested software from Sweden to connect network operators and service providers through an industry standard web and API interface, allowing both parties to integrate once and simultaneously connect to many customers/suppliers.
Runfibre is on a mission to bridge the digital divide in Britain and help rural and social housing communities access the same opportunities and benefits by helping them get, and stay connected to gigabit internet.
ISPA offers its members a variety of discounts for events that we partner with.
White Label Expo UK - 2nd and 3rd March. White Label Expo runs alongside the "Smart Retail Tech" and "Retail Supply Chain and Logistics" Expo and your ticket will allow you to visit all these events.
