The 15th ISPAs winners
Congratulations to all winners and finalists at the 15th ISPAS. It was a great night and you can see a list of all the winners here.300 people watched Sky, Plusnet, VFast & Hyperoptic came away with the broadband awards, with Catalyst2 picking up 2 of the 15 awards on the night.We’ll be launching the 2014 Awards at the end of the year, meanwhile click here to see some photos from the night.

| Internet Hero & Villain winners
Julian Huppert picked up the Internet Hero Award at the ISPAs, for his opposition to the Communications Data Bill. Thanking the industry, he warned that the Bill was a ‘zombie bill’ that could return.Unsurprisingly, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan didn’t come down to pick up his Internet Villain Award, for his role censoring the internet and calling social media ‘a menace to society’.

| ISPA Conference
The 2013 Conference will be on the 27th November, at the offices of K & L Gates in London.The theme is 'How he Internet Underpins Growth' and the panels are:
• How the internet aides economic growth?
• The Future Internet
• Broadband, now and post 2015
• What liability issues could affect the ‘mere conduit’ principle?

| House of Commons member’s dinner
We can also announce a dinner for members in the House of Commons on 16th October, hosted by Alun Cairns, the MP for Vale of Glamorgan. Spaces are very limited and the price for a 3 course meal and drinks is £60. We will be discussing broadband and sharing the agenda soon.

| David Cameron speech
Last week, the Prime Minister made a speech on online safety and filtering. You can see our thoughts on the speech here.We were glad the Prime Minister recognised the work ISPs were already doing, with the major ISPs committing to an Active Choice + system at our event in May. |

| DCMS publish communications review
DCMS published their long awaited review of communications laws and policies. Titled ‘Connectivity, Content & Consumers’, the paper outlines DCMS’ priorities for the next few years, with topics around infrastructure, online safety, consumer regulations (ie switching providers) and media laws.
ISPA are in contact with DCMS on this, and members receive a weekly monitor covering the latest policy developments as well as an in depth analysis of how this paper will affect them. |

ISPA has been exceptionally busy representing the industry in the media over the last month, with the ISPA Awards and online safety being major issues.The 15th ISPAsreceived coverage in the Telegraph, The Register, ISP Review uSwitch and thinkbroadband amongst many others.
