ISPA Hosts Data Protection Compliance Workshop

ISPA hosted a data protection compliance workshop with the Information Commissioner’s Office and legal experts from Kemp Little this month. The event looked at the upcoming changes in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and how the ICO intend to work with smaller and medium sized ISPs on compliance and auditing for the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation (PECR). With data protection and breach reporting high up on the media agenda, the event provided an excellent opportunity for ISPA members to speak directly with the regulator about the steps that they can take to ensure that they are fully compliant with all the relevant rules and regulations. Kemp Little also provided an excellent introduction into the key changes that will be introduced by the GDRP. Slides and notes from the event are available for ISPA members (via admin@ispa.org.uk) and we are planning to continue or work with the ICO in the coming months.
